The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
