I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really happening.
